The DSST Commons is a place for HO staff to create school-facing memos, and for school leaders to access network communications in a succinct, targeted format. This is accomplished in part through the use of Functions, areas of responsibility that a staff member may have that are not strictly aligned to their job title. Functions are managed by the Home Office and School Leaders manage the assignees and followers of the functions.
To find out information about functions, navigate to the "Functions Assignments" page, which can be found on the upper-most tab.
This page will give you all information about a function: Function name, school, description, assignees, and followers. Assignees carry primary responsibility for the function, while Followers are kept in the loop.
There are three ways where you can search/filter for functions:
1) By Function Name - This will show you the function at every school. For example, choosing "Community Engagement Manager" from the Functions dropdown menu:
2) By School - This will show you all functions for a specific school. For example, choosing "DSST: College View HS" from the Schools dropdown menu:
3) By typing in key words in the the open search box. You can search by a function, description, school, etc. For example, is I type is BESS, all BESS functions (or anything with BESS in the name) will pop up:
