The DSST Commons is a place for HO staff to create school-facing memos, and for school leaders to access network communications in a succinct, targeted format. This is accomplished in part through the use of Functions, areas of responsibility that a staff member may have that are not strictly aligned to their job title. Functions are managed by the Home Office and School Leaders manage the assignees and followers of the functions.
Function Owners and School Directors can add or remove Function Assignees & Followers directly in the Commons (please note, however, that Function Owners have this ability only for their own functions, and School Directors only for functions in their school).
To add or remove someone from a specific function, please go to the Functions Assignments page.
To ADD someone, click the + sign either under Assignees or Followers, depending on which you would like to add. In this screenshot, a new Assignee will be added.
Once you click the + sign, a list of all DSST employees in that location (in this case, AST HS) will pop up, and you can simply select the person you want to add (you can also search for a specific person).
As soon as you click on a name, they will be added to the function and will now appear as an Assignee or Follower.
To REMOVE someone, simply click the X next to their name, and they will be removed from the Function.
