Purpose
A custom view is a shortcut to a specific state of interaction, such as filter selections and sorting, for a view on a dashboard. They are a good option if you find yourself adjusting the same filters or zooming into the same data every time you look at a dashboard view.
Create Custom Views
- Start by navigating to the individual view of a dashboard. Make whatever changes you want to capture in the custom view (e.g. advisor, grade, course, etc.).
- When you’re ready to save the changes you’ve made as a custom view, select View from the toolbar.
- Name your view.
- (Optional) Select Make it my default.
- Click Save.
Manage Custom Views
Find a View
- To see ALL your custom views for all dashboards, click your initials in the top right corner and select My Content.
- Select Custom Views.
- To see your custom views for only specific dashboards/views, navigate to the dashboard in which you have created a custom view.
- Select View from the toolbar. Each custom view you have created will appear in the dialogue box.
Modify a View
- Select the name of the view. See how to Find a View above.
- Make whatever changes you would like, just as you did when creating your custom view.
- When you’re ready to save the changes, select View from the toolbar.

- Note: This action will overwrite the original custom view settings. If you'd like to create a new view based on the changes you made, type a new name for the custom view.
Delete a View
- Click your initials in the top right corner and select My Content.
- Select Custom Views.
- Select the three dots under Actions for the custom view you'd like to delete, and select Delete.
