If you would like to send targeted communication to a group of recipients within a school (i.e. families who have not registered as of a certain date) you can use the recipient filter feature. Admins can create these filters in real-time, or the filters can be pre-created to refer to them in the future.

1. Creating Recipient Filters
To create the Recipient Filters please follow these steps:
1. In the main feed for your school, create Create and then choose Post.
2. Select the school, then click on Select Filter and choose +New Recipient Filter.
3. You can now create a filter. Start by choosing a Property (for example, Parents of Students with SIS ID) and an Operator (for example, List of Values).
4. You can now enter the values you selected in the Value field. Depending on the Property & Operator, the value field will either become a text field or a drop-down. In this example, if you choose Parents of Students with SIS IDs as the Property, they should be separated by a comma in the Value field. See the section below for a quick trick to add commas to a long list of SIS IDs.
5. Once you enter the values into the field, you will see the results of the criteria you chose populate below under Matching Results. We HIGHLY recommend checking the Matching Records to make sure that number seems pretty accurate prior to saving the filter.
6. Click Save. You can then enter a name for the list.
7. The name you selected will now be populated in the Select Filter box. This is the filter you created.
8. Click Next.
9. You can then compose the post. Make sure your filter name appears at the top in the To field. You can then post it, and only those in the filter will see it.
2. Editing or Deleting Recipient Filters
1. Follow steps 1 & 2 above, when prompted to Select Filter choose the filter you would like to edit or delete.
2. To edit, click the pencil icon. To delete, click the trash icon.
3. Helpful Excel Trick for Adding Commas
If you have a list of values in Excel (for example, SIS IDs), there is a quick formula you can use to add a comma after the SIS ID. If your first SIS ID is in cell A1, type the following formula in an empty cell next to the SIS ID: =A1&","
In that new cell, you should now see the SIS ID plus a comma. You can then drag that formula down to apply it to all the cells. Always double-check to make sure everything looks correct!
Here is a YouTube video that might be helpful. The general formula is =Cell&","
