Downloading Apps from the DSST Software Center

Overview 

DSST hosts all apps that can be downloaded on DSST Devices in the "Software Center." This program is on all DSST computer devices and allows both staff and students to access these apps. 

All applications and extensions are reviewed to maintain technical security. If you find that a website, app, or extension you want to access is blocked, please submit a DSST Help Desk ticket so staff can review it. If you want to use a specific site in class or a lesson, please reach out 5-7 business days in advance. We want to have ample time to review and, if necessary, support you in identifying another tool, site, etc. that can be used. 

Step One 

On your DSST Device go to the search bar and type "Software Center". The app will appear in your list of results. Click "Software Center" to open the application.

Step Two

Once the application is open you'll see a list of apps that are available for download. The apps listed here are apps that you do not have downloaded on to your computer. When you download an app it will no longer appear in this list. 

Click on the app that you want to install on your device. 

Step Three

You'll be redirected to a new page with the option to install the app. Click "Install". 

After clicking install you should find that the status updates as shown below. 

Step Three

Wait 30 seconds after the app has installed, and then you should be able to locate it using your device's search feature. You can select the app and it will open.
