Overview
One of the great features of Pear Assessment is the variety of ways to collaborate with your colleagues, especially on assessment design, creation, and data review. Grade level or content areas teams will often collaborate on assessments throughout the year. Follow the steps and supports below to learn how to share assessments with colleagues and the settings for sharing.
Important Things to Know
Providing access to your assessment for a colleague allows you to share specific edits, cloning, and viewing rights. It is important to understand the varying levels of access and what they mean. There are three different sharing settings outlined below.
| All Actions | Provides teachers the ability to edit your test, duplicate or clone your test, view and assign that assessment to their students. |
| Limited Actions | Provides teachers the ability to duplicate or clone your test, view, and assign that assessment to their students. |
| Only View and Assign | Provides teachers the ability to view the assessment and assign it to their students. |
Please know that the ability to duplicate or clone assessments can cause confusion and extra copies of a test that may not be needed. Cloned assessments can cause significant issues on the backend if they are not handled properly. It is recommended to only provide access to duplication or cloning if absolutely necessary.
One last thing to note is that you can only add your colleagues as co-teachers (all actions or limited actions) until an assessment is published. Only after the assessment is published can you share via the link (only view and assign).
Step One
To access your published assessments expand the Pear Assessment menu on the left and select "Test"
Step Two
Once the Test Library has loaded you should select "I am an Author" which will display all the assessments you are an author of (you could also go to the "Created by Me" as well).
If you do not see your test be sure to clear all filters in place by selecting "CLEAR ALL" at the top of the search bar.
Click "More" on the test you wish to share and at the top of the pop-up window you will see the "share" logo next to the test name. Click the share button.
Step Three
You will now see the "Share with Others" window. Here you can select the individuals you wish to share assessments with and the corresponding settings. Choose from the pathways listed below for sharing your assessment.
- Share your assessment via URL
- Share your assessment with individuals
- Share your assessment with the district
Share your Assessment via URL
If you wish to share your assessment via URL you MUST turn on the link-sharing. You will see the URL for the assessment change from "verid" to include "view-test" then select "Share".
Share your Assessment with Individuals
If you wish to share with an individual you will need to select "INDIVIDUALS" in the sharing window.
Enter the name or email address of the individual you wish to share the assessment with. As you type names matching will appear in a drop-down menu. You will notice that next to an individual's name it will include the type of account. Some school admin, such as Instructional Coaches, may have multiple accounts. This will clarify which account you are sharing it with.
After selecting the name of the individual you are sharing with you must choose the access on the right. You can also choose to notify this person via email with the "Send Email Notification" box.
When you are finished click "Share".
Share your Assessment with the District
Another option is to share your assessment with the district. This will allow individuals to search in the Test Library and access your assessment based on the settings you choose.
Select the "District" option and choose what settings you wish to provide. Select "Share".
