Overview
Pear Assessment offers a variety of options regarding absent students. You are able to restrict assessment access for absent students to reduce cheating opportunities. When absent students return you can redirect their assessment so they can access the assessment. Students need to be marked as "absent" to utilize these features.
Follow the steps and supports below to mark students as absent.
Step One
Assessments must be "Open" in order to mark students as absent. If you need information about how to "Open" or "Close" Assessments please click here.
- Select the “Assignments” tab in the dark gray navigation bar.
- Find the assessment in your list and select the desired section.
- You will be directed to the "Live Class Board."
Step Two
On the "Live Class Board" you should see all your students shown on "student cards". In the top right-hand corner of the student cards, there is a check box. Check the box for all students you wish to mark as absent.
Step Three
Once you have selected all the appropriate students click "More" in the right-hand corner. In the menu select "Mark as Absent". Now, those absent students are unable to click open the assessment. The students who are present will be able to work.
Step Four
When the absent students return go to "Assignments" and select "Live Class Board" for the assessment. You can select the student's name by placing a check mark. Then click "more" and select "Redirect" to give the absent student access. For more information about redirecting assessments click here
